FW: JULY 30TH COUNCIL MEETING RE EAGLE CREEK VILLAGE
From: 2005jd Sent: July-25-13 2:09 PM To: Mayor And Council Email Cc: Jeff Chow Subject: JULY 30TH COUNCIL MEETING RE EAGLE CREEK VILLAGE
July 25, 2013
To Mayor Hill and Councillors:
I am writing to express my concerns regarding the construction of buildings 3 and 4 at Eagle Creek Village. I viewed the new shadow study provided by Omicron for June 21, July 21 and August 21 and see that my yard and patio will be in total shade from mid-afternoon through evening from late spring through late summer, once building 3 and 4 are constructed, while currently we enjoy full sun on our backyards and patios. This is the time of day when we want to be spending leisure time outdoors in the sunshine on our patios!
We will be losing the sun in our yards and in our homes, as well as losing our views and privacy with the construction of two 4 storey buildings adjacent to our homes. To date we haven't been able to truly relate how these changes will affect the entire ambience of our living spaces both inside and out as no concessions have been made to the homeowners of Hidden Oaks with regards to proximity and height of buildings 3 and 4.
With the new shadow study the true effect of buildings 3 and 4 on Hidden Oaks homeowners is evident and I am asking for your intervention to make changes in height and proximity before excavation is underway.
Sincerely,
Julie Duffy 16 - 15 Helmcken Road Victoria BC
