Subject: West Urban Development on Erskine Lane

Good morning,

We received a notice about a proposal by WUD to change their plan to build a roundabout on the intersection of Watkiss Way and Erskine Lane. They propose to construct a “signalized intersection… as an alternative”.

Even with a roundabout, the traffic at this corner will be congested. I believe that a signal would make it next to impossible to get in and out of our strata at 14 Erskine Lane. The traffic would back up along Watkiss Way, Erskine Lane, Stoneridge Drive and our strata.

WUD knew the design difficulties and yet were able to propose a roundabout. The properties that are impacted existed before they began construction so the challenges were already evident. Perhaps they’ll need to compensate those owners or provide another alternative.

The outdoor meeting WUD is proposing on September 21st will likely result in a shouting match amongst peaceful neighbours.

I believe the roundabout should not be negotiable. It is necessary. It is at times already difficult to get through the lane even when only 1 truck is making its way down.

Please DON’T ALLOW A SIGNALIZED INTERSECTION AT THE CORNER OF ERSKINE LANE AND WATKISS WAY.

Best regards,
Glenda Balkan,
