An email outlining a new incentive for residents: a $500 electric bicycle rebate or a 6-month bus pass.

2 APPROVAL OF AGENDA
June 16, 2020$500 rebate for electric bikes6-month bus pass per unit option

From: df@icic.us df@icic.us Sent: Tuesday, June 16, 2020 2:07 PM To: Mayor And Council Email mayorandcouncil@viewroyal.ca Cc: Info Address info@viewroyal.ca; Jennifer Kay jennifer@town-square.ca; 'Rob Whetter' raw@dhk.ca; 'Nadine King' NKing@wattconsultinggroup.com Subject: Eagles nest rezoning and BC Transit bus passes.

Mayor and Council,

You may recall we are offering a $500 rebate for anyone of our residents that buys an electric bicycle during the first six months of residence.

We are aware that we may have seniors or students that will not wish to use a bike and would prefer to use BC Transit. Therefore, we will also be offering a 6 month of bus pass per unit to residents that would prefer a bus pass over a rebate.

Our thinking is that it will give residents the experience of the convenience of using a bus over driving a vehicle and that will translate into more transit use and less vehicular traffic.

Kind regards,
