TOWN OF VIEW ROYAL
DRAFT: NOTICE OF ROAD CLOSURE, REMOVAL OF HIGHWAY DEDICATION AND DISPOSITION BY EXCHANGE
In compliance with section 40 of the Community Charter, the Council of the Town of View Royal gives notice of its intention, by bylaw, to a.) close to all types of traffic the approximately 401.8m² area that comprises all of "Historic Road" (located off of Admirals Road) shown outlined in black on the drawing below and labeled "Subject Area", and b.) remove the dedication of a highway for all of "Historic Road".
Road Closure and Removal of Highway Dedication – Historic Road, Bylaw No. 876, 2014, will be considered by Council at its regular meeting at Town of View Royal Town Hall (Council Chambers), 45 View Royal Avenue, Victoria, BC on Tuesday, xxx, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. All persons who consider they are affected by the Bylaw will be given an opportunity to be heard and to present written submissions on the matter above. Written submissions can also be mailed to the undersigned or emailed to info@viewroyal.ca by 12:00 p.m., Thursday, xxx, 2014.
In compliance with section 26 of the Community Charter, the Council of the Town of View Royal gives notice of its intention to dispose of the land to be created by "Road Closure and Removal of Highway Dedication – Historic Road, Bylaw No. 876, 2014". This land is to be disposed of to the Province of British Columbia, owner of the adjacent properties comprising 1801 Admirals Road (known as Craigflower Manor Historic Site), in exchange for:
a.) road dedication to the Town of View Royal totaling approximately 237.3m² from the frontages of Remainder Lot 1, Section 2, Esquimalt District, Plan 11766 (PID 005-127-076); Remainder Lot 2, Section 2, Esquimalt District, Plan 11766 (PID 005-127-092); and Remainder Lot 1, Section 2, Esquimalt District, Plan 11919 (PID 004-910-010); b.) an approximately 229.4 m² statutory right-of-way and covenant both in favour of the Town of View Royal over Remainder Lot 1, Section 2, Esquimalt District, Plan 11766 (PID 005-127-076) and Lot A, Section 2, Esquimalt District, Plan 17320 (PID 003-917-231); and c.) removal of the provision to provide replacement parking and replacement trees at the Craigflower Manor site as components of the Craigflower Bridge Replacement Project.
