REPORTS 8.1 STAFF REPORTS 8.2 COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE RESOLUTIONS 1. From the September 9, 2014 Committee of the Whole meeting a) Tree Permit Application – 2 Ethos Place (Strata 765) 1. THAT the Committee recommend to Council that the request to remove two (2) trees at 2 Ethos Place be approved; AND THAT, as per the Town’s Tree Protection Bylaw No. 695, six (6) trees be replanted (2:1 ratio) for these two (2) trees proposed for removal and the one (1) tree removed earlier this year. (COW-67-14) b) Tree Removal Application – 239 Heddle Avenue 1. THAT the Committee recommend to Council that the request to remove two (2) trees at 239 Heddle Avenue be denied. (COW-68-14) c) Portage Park Pathway – Cyclist Speed Issues 1. THAT the Committee recommend to Council that signage be installed to help control the speed of cyclists on the Portage Park Pathway; AND THAT pruning of the current plant material be completed to improve sight lines. (COW-69-14) d) Traffic Calming Policy 1. THAT the Committee recommend to Council that the Traffic Calming Policy be approved with the amendment under Step 6 (2) to reduce the required support of the residents who live within 30 metres of the proposed device from 100% to 80%; AND THAT the Traffic Calming Policy be reviewed after one (1) year. (COW-70-14) e) Safety Improvements on Watkiss Way 1. THAT the Committee recommend to Council that the safety improvement project as described in the Director of Engineering’s report dated September 4, 2014 on Watkiss Way proceed; AND THAT the budget for the pedestrian improvements and flashing pedestrian crossing at Marler Drive on Watkiss Way be increased to $25,000.
