Subject: Residential Parking
We, as residents and taxpayers residing in the Stoneridge Subdivision, request the Town of View Royal action our concerns with regards to unauthorized vehicle parking within our subdivision.
It has become apparent employees from the Victoria General Hospital are parking regularly on our streets, probably so that they do not have to pay for allocated employee parking at the hospital. This is an on-going common practice as those responsible have been seen exiting their vehicles wearing hospital uniforms and walking towards the hospital. Two of these vehicles are frequent parkers, license plates are 749KXD, 842-SHG. We suspect but cannot confirm these are others: 964RNT, FLA 115, 084 PPT.
We propose two solutions. A letter from the Town of View Royal be written by the Town and issued to the Victoria General Hospital asking them to refer this issue to their employees; and secondly signs be posted onto the two streets affected (Stoneridge Drive and Stoneridge Place). These could read: RESIDENTIAL PARKING ONLY, UNAUTHORIZED VEHICLES WILL BE TOWED.
In addition, this unauthorized parking is causing a number of issues with the residents as in some cases residents have difficulty entering/exiting their driveways. This also makes it difficult when visitors are visiting, or garbage and recycling contractor's pick up weekly household wastes. Of primary concern is it affects the ingress/egress of emergency vehicles.
Please contact the undersigned for further information. Thank you.

Part Two
By-Laws Officer Enzo Calla and Engineering Representative Deb Becelaere visited areas of concern on July 31. Not sure what View Royal will do to act upon our concerns.
The following day Aug 1st, another new vehicle parked on the contested roadway adjacent to #43's front garden area on Stoneridge Drive. In addition I spoke to the other vehicle owner who has been parking on our street regularly and had parked her vehicle two feet into 43's driveway impeding access. Refer to the photos.
Now that Vic Gen Hospital employees know that they can park here, they are letting other's know as well.
I went to the townhall this morning to get the petition and delegation request form. If Engineering does not proceed with erecting the three signs as requested in our letter dated 23 July, we will be attending the September 2nd councilor's meeting to grieve our concerns.
