November 15, 2022Pages 172–1732 sections

Site development plan drawing A-101 showing the existing and proposed building layout, parking, and setbacks.

1 CALL TO ORDER
Site Area: 5.13 AcresOctober 18, 2022Proposed Lot Coverage: 27.8%

This first photo depiction (EXAMPLE 3a) is as viewed from the top floor home office window on the rear side of my home. It depicts the proposed building expansion in yellow, without any allowances or depiction of additional rooftop accessories or structures.

The proposed expansion would significantly obstruct what remains my enjoyable view from my upstairs home office and obstruct almost all of the Craigflower Manor site and the Gorge waterway surrounding the Manor.

EXAMPLE 3a – POTENTIAL TOP STOREY VIEW

The following second photo depiction (EXAMPLE 3b) is as viewed from the main floor home living room window at the rear of my home. Again, it depicts the proposed building expansion in yellow, without any allowances or depiction of unknown rooftop accessories or structures.

Although it may seem a small component of roof area when compared to the existing expanse, on its own the proposed expansion not only worsens the massiveness of the existing rooftop, it removes what little is remains of what was once an extraordinary landscape view.

TOP CONCERN AND PRIORITY

Not to distract from aforementioned concerns and questions, my biggest concern and priority, as far as this development application, relates to the potential impact to the continuance and the personal enjoyment of spatial comfort and the views in the immediate vicinity of my home.

I am asking Mayor and Council to restrict and control obstructive plantings and to limit construction elevations in a manner that will offer to protect my spatial comfort and the views of the Gorge waterways that have been historically enjoyed by me, my household and by neighbouring residents.
