Re: The Back Pack Project Christmas Campaign
Dear Honorable Mayor and Council members,
I am once again writing to you in hopes you will consider supporting my organisation this fall and winter!
We are asking all 13 Municipalities within the CRD, if you would consider having a donation box in the lobby of the Municipal Hall, to collect donations from members of your community for our Back pack project?
The Backpack Project is an annual local initiative, which provides backpacks full of necessities and comfort items on Christmas Day and throughout the year to community members who are experiencing homelessness. We deliver the back packs to local women’s and community shelters. And they are also handed out personally, to people who we see in each of our communities throughout the CRD that call the streets their home. This will be our 14th year of operation!
By supporting us last year with a drop off location at the Municipal Hall, we collected donations that filled 100’s of back packs, which helped a huge population of people who were experiencing homelessness throughout The Greater Victoria Region.
We would like to know if we could count on you once again, to provide us a space in the front lobby of the Municipal Hall for our donation box and poster.
We would need a small space to put a cardboard box and a poster, for 8 weeks. Starting Tuesday November 1st to Friday December 23rd.
We have volunteers to collect donations from the boxes once a week, or as needed.
If you could please consider this request, and respond with a YES! as soon as possible. It would be greatly appreciated!
Your support helps bring hope and dignity to vulnerable people in our community, on Christmas day and throughout the year.
If you need any more information, or have any questions, please feel free to call or e-mail me anytime. Thank you again for your consideration, in supporting this community cause.
Sincerely,
*Niki Ottosen Back Pack Project Victoria B.C. 250-217-9614
