REZONING APPLICATION 3360-20/2022/04- 335 STEWART AVENUE
Both Tony Dellaviola and Janice Dellaviola reside at 333 Stewart. We are opposed to the Rezoning application 2022/04-335. Zoning bylaws were put in place for good reason, in this particular case – Bylaw #900.
The impacts from the development to a single-family dwelling far outweigh the benefits to the local neighbourhood in this area. Some of the concerning impacts are the affects of trees, wildlife habitat and weather (winds, rain run off etc.).
Given all the good work the ToVR has done around climate impact and also housing shortages. This rezoning does not assist this in anyway. This additional space for the homeowner does not provide another home for people in View Royal, just additional space for a single-family dwelling owner.
The council should weigh the increase development size against the zoning bylaws and the impacts to the Climate Action plan. We should not be considering variances or rezoning applications unless there is a considerable reason.
