Good Morning TOVR,
We are writing to express our whole hearted support of Councillor Lemon's agenda item 13.b "Zero Carbon in new construction (by 2025)"
The City of Victoria and District of Saanich have already passed motions on this. The District of North Saanich will probably follow suit at their next council meeting and the CRD were also collaborating on this. Our neighbours in Esquimalt and Colwood are currently busy drafting their versions of an LCES bylaw to achieve the same end.
We need all our future building stock to be safe, healthy and climate resilient starting asap as these will each last on average another 50 years.
We could start by encouraging 167, 169, and 171 to step up. This could be a great opportunity for them to lead by example and be a welcomed community partner.
