RE: View Royal’s contribution to the CRD Arts and Culture Support Service

CRD Arts Funding has supported 5,297 artists and arts workers, including those living in View Royal. CRD Arts and Culture Support Service has helped deliver arts experiences to over 928,580 participants, including those living and working in View Royal. The arts and cultural sector, including Pacific Opera, benefit from View Royal’s participation in the CRD Arts and Culture Support Service, and in return provide an array of programming to thousands of citizens from View Royal each year.

Establishing a performing arts centre in the Westshore is an important initiative, but only if there is art to perform on its stages and exhibit in its galleries. Without View Royal’s continued Group 1 support for the CRD Arts and Culture Service, there will a lack of funding for regional artists and arts organizations to animate the stages and spaces across the region.

For the benefit of View Royal artists and residents, Pacific Opera strongly encourages View Royal’s continued Group 1 contribution to the CRD Arts and Culture Support Service.
