Dear Mayor Tobias and Council,

On behalf of the Vancouver Island South Film & Media Commission's board of directors, staff, local crew and 385 members and 200 registered businesses, I would like to thank you for your continued support. Your generous grant in aid of $2,000.00 is sincerely appreciated and plays a vital role in helping us continue to foster the growth of the film and media sector in View Royal and the broader South Island region.

Thanks to support from municipal partners like the Town of View Royal, 2025 is off to an encouraging start. To date we have hosted four Movies of the Week (MOWs), a feature film, the fifth installment of a popular Disney series and the new series for Global, Private Eyes West Coast. This exciting spinoff sees Jason Priestley's character relocate from Toronto to the Capital Regional District, providing a rare and valuable opportunity for the Southern Vancouver Island to portray itself authentically on national television—with the strong potential for international distribution.

This kind of exposure not only highlights the natural beauty and unique character of communities like View Royal but also helps stimulate economic activity, create jobs, and foster local pride. We are grateful for your vision and continued support in helping us make this happen. We will continue to work with international and local stakeholders to ensure that productions benefit the communities where projects are filmed.
