Details of Item to be Added: Currently the Town’s process for policy development has staff drafting the policy first and then engaging with the committees on the drafts after. It is my professional experience that engagement with interested parties should take place prior to staff drafting the policy. The reason for this is often the motivation behind Council's motion to staff stems from a committee suggestion. Our committees are a great source of new innovative ideas, research and expertise as residents and should set the direction at the start of policy development.
