Vision 39 To include into the ATNP vision transit bus stops The Vision was developed through public engagement responses per What We Heard Summary #2. However, bus stops have been included into the vision where active transportation connects to various destinations
Ultimate Network – Pedestrian Network 43 To clarify in the ATNP the definition of “rolling” This has been made clearer in the ATNP
Facility Types – Multi Use Pathway 54 To clarify in the ATNP the appropriate widths for multi use paths within the context of the Town of View Royal 6.0m wide MUP’s will not be considered for Town projects at this time as that is more appropriate for regional trails. Clarification has been added to the ATNP.
Table 8 Short Term Projects – Project G 77 Include in the ATNP an option for this project to have unidirectional bike lanes on each side of the road instead of an MUP AT Plans are non prescriptive with a focus on design options. However, from a high level desktop study, painted bike lanes on both sides can be an option as the road currently has low enough volumes to make this a suitable option. Staff have noted this as a project option, to be addressed in the future as part of budget and detail design deliberations.
Table 8 Short Term Projects – Project J 77 Add to this project by adding a curb and concrete sidewalk on the south side of the island highway to fill the gap between end of the existing sidewalk to the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre The Town will be referring this to the City of Colwood as the gap falls within this Municipality
Table 10 – Short term Project Cost Estimate 107 Include the definition of a Class D estimate This has been clarified in the ATNP
Action Plan – Table 11 110 Include more language on transit in the Action Plan The revised ATNP includes more language on transit throughout the report.
Next Steps 118 Emphasize wording for the Helmcken overpass that View Royal will continue to work with its partners to provide safer and more convenient walking and cycling for this project Additional emphasis has been provided in the ATNP
