Long-term residents expressing opposition to the OCP update, citing concerns about increased density and traffic on Helmcken Road.

Dear Mayor and Council

As long time residents of View Royal (over 20 years), we feel we have not been heard nor represented by council for the updated OCP and this saddens us immensely.

Our neighbourhood of Chancellor/Conard/Quincy/Cheltenham/Camden/St.Giles is a true community and I don’t appreciate that we are forced to accept what council is proposing. We already have large significant density going in on Helmcken/Burnside and on Erskine Lane.

Helmcken Road cannot support the traffic that uses it currently. Our little quiet road of Conard is used as a thoroughfare to avoid the Helmcken Road traffic and it was not built for that either.

We would appreciate council rejecting this draft and amend to lower density community minded neighbourhoods which I believe is a better focus.

If you feel apart of a community, you care!

Lastly can our Emergency agencies support this growth as well? Would this also not be more cost for firefighters and RCMP officers?

Thank you for your time and I hope you actually listened.
