OUR MISSION: support, champion, and develop the arts
Established in 2001, CRD Arts & Culture Support Service funding creates artistic, social and economic benefits for the region. Through outreach, we foster collaboration between arts organizations, funders and audiences.

ARTS COMMISSION

Stable funding to enable long-term planning
INCUBATOR GRANTS
Supports the development of new and emerging arts organizations
2023 FUNDING IMPACT
- $2.6 million invested in arts through our granting programs
- 93 grants awarded to local arts non-profits & artist-led partnerships
- 45% increase in Equity Grant funds awarded over 2022
- 9,460+ arts events & performances activated by grant recipients

Update on Performing Arts Facilities
CRD PERFORMING ARTS FACILITIES SELECT COMMITTEE
- Re-launched earlier this year
- Looking at both full regional & sub-regional options
SUPPORT FOR WESTSHORE
- On September 12, 2024, CRD Staff met with the Inter-Municipal working group of the Juan de Fuca Performing Arts Society
- The previously proposed Full Regional Performing Arts Facilities Service, including grants for planning new performing arts center projects, as well as launching a new capital reserve as seed money for the construction of new performing arts facilities.

- View Royal residents benefit from arts activities across the region. Contributions amplify the arts sector everywhere.
- View Royal is a regional leader in supporting the arts.
- View Royal has a seat on the CRD Arts Commission and a voice in shaping arts policy for the entire region.

- Non-profit organizations located in View Royal can access all five CRD arts grants with a total granting budget of $2.7M
- Arts organizations in other eligible jurisdictions can receive grant support to bring arts activities to View Royal.
