Hi there,
I'm contacting you today to inquire into the possibility of implementing a free youth bus pass program in View Royal like the one the City of Victoria provides for their youth. It seems so unfair that youth who live in View Royal have to pay $45/month to catch the bus when other youth, who may even attend the same school, get this service for free.
I'm curious if View Royal has ever considered this and if so, why it's not a program currently? And if this hasn't been considered, what can we do to make this happen?
Providing programs like this encourage people to use the transit system, which is better for our community because:
- More cars on the road equals more vehicle pollution, etc.
- It shows that youth are valued
- It supports families who are already stressed financially due to the unprecedented rise in the cost of living that we're experiencing.
