Notes

  1. All work to be completed to current BCSLA Landscape Standard.
  2. All new plants to suit existing vegetation on north of property and on the west side of the entry drive to provide a visual screen from Highway 1.
  3. To protect against the spread of Sudden Oak Death all plants to be purchased from nurseries that have tested negative for Phytophthora ramorum. Testing to have been completed by the BCLNA or CNFPIA within the last 12 months.
  4. Plants for Restoration Areas are not listed on above plant list.

Restoration Area Notes

RESTORATION AREA Area to be replanted with mix of native trees (shown), Japanese Barberry (shown), native shrubs and herbaceous plants. Shrubs selection (at #5 pot): Holodiscus discolor, Mahonia Aquifolium and Rosa nutkana, and Symphoricarpos albus. Grasses: (#77 plug): Festuca idahoensis ssp. roemeri Herbaceous Plants: (#SP3 pot): Achillea millefolium, Anaphalis margaritacea, Aquilegia formosa, Brodiaea coronaria, Camassia quamash, Delphinium menziesii, Dodecatheon hendersonii, Erythronium oregonum, Fragaria vesca and Olymium douglasii. Shrubs to be planted at a density equivalent to 1 shrub per 5 sq. m. Grasses to be planted at a density equivalent to 5 per sq. m. Herbaceous Plants to be planted at a density equivalent to 4-5 per 1 sq. m. (between the grasses).

ROCKFACE RESTORATION PLAN Where appropriate, place woody debris at the top and toe of exposed rock areas to slow sheet flow and mitigate erosion of pockets of thin soils. Plant pioneering woody species such as alder, poplar, and maple where soil pockets allow.
