Strata Plan VIS 4909 requesting removal of parking on Hallowell Road to improve traffic flow and visibility.

Attention Mayor Screech, Traffic Congestion on Hallowell Road.
Dear Mayor David Screech:
Our strata fronts Hallowell at the west end of the Road and we exit onto Admirals from Hallowell. We very often experience drivers, exiting Thrifty's, moving well out into Hallowell to make a left turn towards Admirals. This creates a significant hazard for us as we travel both east and west on Hallowell. We can only assume that the drivers' line of site is obscured by vehicles parked between the two Thrifty's exits/entrances and that is why they move out so far. In order to improve this situation we request that the Town disallow parking between these exists. This will only affect 4 parking spaces.
Further, there is a new development being established at the southwest corner of Hallowell and Admirals. Their entrance/exit is located on Hallowell directly across from Thrifty's main entrance. The owner, who recently met with our strata, estimated that there would be about 150 vehicles a day using their facilities. Given this additional traffic congestion on Hallowell we would request that the Town remove 5 or more parking spots just west of the new development's entrance.
From what we can see the only cars parking on Hallowell are those of Thrifty's staff. We certainly enjoy Thrifty's as neighbours but believe they could absorb the loss of 10 parking spots on Hallowell and establish 10 sites for staff parking in their parking lot. In order to see the problem first hand it will require a member of your staff to come to the site. The best time would be mid-day when it gets busy. We would be happy to have one of our people to attend with your staff member. We thank you for your attention to this matter.
Yours truly,
H.S. Whitney. President, acting Strata Plan VIS 4909
