Objection to increasing industrial development and Disruptive heavy truck traffic near Aldersmith Woods.

FW: Hallowell and Admirals Developments

From: JOAN HENDERSON Sent: June-15-15 11:26 AM To: Mayor And Council Email Cc: Agnes Douglas Subject: Hallowell and Admirals Developments

As a resident of Aldersmith Woods. VIS3943, I wish to strongly object to the increasing industrial development and resulting disruptive traffic in the area of Hallowell and Admirals Roads. The landscaping supply business will bring traffic from all the Western communities as well as Saanich and Esquimalt as a result of it being only one of two in the greater Victoria area. The cement business introduces toxins to the soil and heavy truck traffic to the neighborhood.

Traffic is always difficult during the peak hours for workers going to and coming from Dockyard and Naden, backing up on Admirals Road for blocks and blocks! We find it difficult to leave our homes during those hours in the morning and again in the late afternoon and now are faced with edging out between big trucks hauling trailers filled with toxic materials! The construction of a road on the Esquimalt Nation Reserve that runs parallel to Hallowell to accommodate the heavy trucks is simply moving the problem over a few feet. These trucks still have to exit on Admirals Road.

The noise, the dust, the odours and the heavy traffic should not have to be tolerated by residents who are taxpayers in the Town of View Royal. The Esquimalt Nation's plan for their land is difficult enough to accept without the Town of View Royal assisting in making it worse.
