I just read yet another informational handout about the proposed Hallowell Road changes. Lets stop and think for a minute: all the previous handouts and PR pamphlets still refer to the EN corridor as Native Land, Lets clear that up and put out the correct information. As you are likely aware I have had petitions handed in to your council, the CRD and even CC copies to the Federal and Provincial elected official for this area. Now instead of spending more money studying, proposing and re-routing the bicycle path, demand an end to this non- sense, let the Esquimalt nation keep there non tax paying Smoke shop on the "encroached Federal Railway Land " but connect the bike path between Hallowell and Maplebank Roads. It would be the least expensive and least frustrating for all involved.

If Esquimalt and Ralmax continue to push for these changes and your Council insists on doing a study, let those parties involved with a vested interest in the First Nation Project, run their road along from Trios yard and out Maplebank Road with the Songhees Nation's help. Thomas Road seems not viable, but an intersection from Seeupin across Admirals as a controlled intersection could be done using their own land, for their own benefit, with minimal cost to the Taxpayer. These are just a few ideas that I will send to all involved again. Bob Mason may even look into these and other alternatives as the Esquimalt Nation adviser.

There will be a lot of opposition to the new proposed Hallowell changes. I also keep being amazed about most "informational" or Q and A meetings being held during working hours. The people it actually affects, the taxpaying, hard working individual can not make most of these meetings. Thankfully, the Town Council meeting will be at a reasonable time. As you know, the new digging on Admirals Road, snarls traffic so much that a person living here on Aldersmith Place can look forward to approx. 45 minutes from Esquimalt to Thrifty's.
