Dear Mayor and Council,
Wendy and I, as well as our Daughter and son in law, are requesting a variance, as a means to providing adequate frontage to successfully subdivide our two properties into four. The two new lots are conforming to the zoning requirements and the OCP of View Royal.
We are hoping to create these lots, and have two of our children build homes on them. For us, this will help maintain our family connection in View Royal that we all have enjoyed for the last 30 years. These new lots will eventually have single family dwellings that will provide increased tax base for the Town. As part of the proposal we will dedicate land to the Town, to create a safer and larger cull de sac on the top of Fenton road. This new cul de sac will provide the necessary access and turning radius for emergency vehicles, which the current cul de sac does not provide. In turn, this will create a safer neighborhood, with only a very modest amount of new traffic generated. Additionally there will be one less confusing address and driveway issue to stymie emergency vehicles, as an existing View Royal avenue address is changed to Fenton road.
The public infrastructure is adequate and not only meets the service requirements of the Town but will improve the current infrastructure and aesthetics of Fenton road. It is our feeling that these changes will complement and improve conditions in the surrounding area and relate well to the neighborhood.
As a permanent resident on Fenton road, and longstanding members of the business community in View Royal, we hope to improve our neighborhood and help move it forward in keeping with the vision that View Royal residents and council have for our town.
Thank you for considering this proposal.
Sincerely,
Graham & Wendy Haymes.
