Letter from Residents of Nursery Hill Drive re: Secondary Suites

Secondary Suites - Nursery Hill Drive, Lakeside Estates, View Royal

Following our meeting on Monday July 16th, 2012 with yourself and representatives from the office of The Town of View Royal regarding secondary suites on Nursery Hill Drive, Lakeside Estates, we herewith submit our application to address the Council of View Royal at the next meeting on Tuesday September 4th, 2012. During this session we would appreciate to be allowed to share with Council background of the Lakeside Estates sub-division and Nursery Hill Drive residential area, conditions of purchase of the residences and to exchange information with the Town of View Royal, initiating a formal process with the objective to review the existing Secondary Suite By-law No. 601.

As residents of Nursery Hill Drive, we thank you for the information already shared with residents represented at the meeting on July 16th and welcome The View Royal Councils view point as outlined at the meeting: a) Suggestion for the 23 owners of properties located at Nursery Hill Drive, Lakeside Estates, to meet with the View Royal Town Council and present the problem formally to Council. b) Recommendation to work out the secondary suite issue in a "neighbourly" way between Council and Nursery Hill residents and finding a solution. c) Acknowledgement of the priorities of the Town of View Royal Council's and pending study on secondary suites, currently 2nd on the Council's priority for review of current By-laws. d) Brief overview of By-law requirements for a Secondary Suite hosting site and sharing experiences and potential problems in meeting the by-law requirements. e) Invitation to Council members to visit Lakeside Estates to share and observe how residents of Nursery Hill Drive collectively live and work together and operate as a community.
