Dear Mayor,

I am the secretary of the strata and I took it upon myself to jot down a few incidents in the near past that has actually happened in order to give you an idea of the kind of interaction that exists amongst the people residing in Lakeside Estates.

  1. Recent party of a daughter:- I received an e-mail giving residents notice that their daughter are planning a teenage party on a specific date in the future week so as to warn us that we might expect noise on that night, and asking whether anybody might have extra parking available.
  2. Graduation party:- Then there was a child that graduated and parents notified us that on a specific evening friends might come over.
  3. Wedding some time ago:- There was a pre-wedding-get-together and residents were notified of the plans well in advance.
  4. July 24, 2012:- On this day, I was home unexpectedly and a foreign person parked in our drive way. I heard my neighbour greeting him friendly enquiring as to his relationship with my husband. I appreciated this gesture.
  5. July 28 – We are from different religious groups and on this day my neighbour from a few doors up the street came to explain and invite us to a religious celebration that they planned.
  6. July 29, 2012 – Two elderly ladies tried to load a pet-crate in their car one early morning. A young gentleman passed by on his way out. The car stopped and the man helped the lady load the crate in her car.
  7. July 29, 2012 – I saw two neighbours painting the fence between them, talking away about this and that.
  8. In August the people @ 408 were away on holiday and the next door neighbours mowed their front lawn when they did their own.

These were a few notes that I made but I can assure you that this kind of friendly interaction takes place throughout the year.

Respectfully presented by:

Tomorrow evening WED 16th I will be hosting a bbq at my place (440 Nursery Hill Dr) around 7pm.

I plan on parking some cars on my lawn but will not be able to accommodate all my guests.

If anyone has a spot or 2 free in their driveway I could use for a few hrs that would be awesome, I expect that some guests will have to park on street as well

I would ask for your patience in regards to parking on the street this one time. I don't expect anyone to stay any later than 11pm if that

Thanks in Advance, CHRIS KINNEAR
