As a resident of High Street since 2006 I believe approval of the variance at 81 High Street is not in the best interest of the neighbourhood.
Knocken Hill Park backs onto this property and blasting required to build, plus removal of several endangered oak trees, foliage, and protected plants, will severely impact the eco-system of the area. It will also displace a variety of wildlife who forage and travel through to the park areas.
A secondary issue is additional traffic on this quiet dead end street. As it stands, there are many visitors who explore Knocken Hill Park (children, dog walkers, hikers, neighbours, tourists) and parking is limited. Speeding drivers coming down the hill is another issue.
I appreciate the reason Mr. Tetlow wishes to subdivide his property however I do not feel he is concerned about the integrity of our neighbourhood.
Thank you to Council for taking these concerns under consideration.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Rundell
