To The Town of View Royal Council,

I am a relatively new resident of the area and located at 79 High Street, next door to 81 High Street.

Although new to the area, we are impressed with the ongoing efforts to preserve the delicate ecological balance in Knocken Hill Park.

After some research, we feel there would be significant damage to the park if a subdivision at the proposed address was allowed. The removal of the protected Garry Oak trees, not to mention the rest of the delicate balance in the park would be upset with blasting and building an additional site on this street.

In addition to the ecological issues, there are already a number of people that use this quiet street for parking in connection with Strawberry Vale hall events, the daycare and others that use Knocken park to walk dogs, hike etc. Another site would add to the traffic and parking situation.

Although I understand Brian Tetlow's motivation for subdividing his property, after careful consideration, there is a bigger picture here and we must be opposed to the approval of this variance permit.

I encourage the council to do a thorough review of this proposal and what it would mean to Knocken Hill park and this beautiful neighborhood.

Thank you for consideration.

Sincerely,

Cindy Benson
Greg Smith
