RE: ADDENDUM to Environmental Overview Assessment for the Natural Watercourse and Shoreline Areas Development Permit Area at 297 View Royal Ave, Town of View Royal

This letter is an addendum to Environmental Overview Assessment for the Natural Watercourse and Shoreline Areas Development Permit Area at 297 View Royal Ave, Town of View Royal, by Swell Environmental Consulting Ltd. September 13, 2022 (referenced below as September 13, 2022 – Swell Report).

Lehna Malmkvist from Swell Environmental Consulting has reviewed the revised memo by Ryzuk Geotechnical from March 28, 2023 (Appendix 1) and the arborist report by Concrete Jungle Forestry Ltd. 297 View Royal Avenue March 28, 2023 Ryzuk Geotechnical; Proposed Foreshore Stabilization Works Douglas-fir Holding Root Arborist Opinion (Appendix 2).

The proposed adjustments to the design does not change the proposed plantings, in the locations where proposed gabions have been removed on the slope, the plantings that were proposed for the gabions, will instead be planted in that location on the ground.

The proposed adjustments by Ryzuk are consistent with the September 13, 2022 - Swell Report site assessment and recommendations.

Provided the environmental protection measures (September 13, 2022 - Swell Report) and arborist recommendations (Appendix 2) are implemented, the Development Permit Guidelines will be addressed as described in the September 13, 2022 Swell report.
