the six-month moratorium to pause on all new developments

From: Deb Thurlbeck Sent: Tuesday, June 6, 2023 8:37 AM To: Mayor And Council Email mayorandcouncil@viewroyal.ca Subject: the six-month moratorium to pause on all new developments

To View Royal mayor and council,

I strongly disagree with the six-month moratorium to pause on all new developments.

View Royal spent money on a draft OCP which has not seen the light of day. VR also felt the need to hire and pay for 2 more councilors because of the projected population increase, money better spent on policing and fire services.

Instead of the NIMBY approach, VR should strive to understand that there is a housing shortage and more housing is needed, not put blocks in the way to make housing starts more difficult and expensive.

On the issue of increased traffic, VR residents also use roads in the neighboring communities. If this is to change, then amalgamation might streamline the number of redundant mayors and councilors.

Regards D Thurlbeck
