The Mayor noted that the 2017 Volunteer Appreciation Dinner was a success and thanked staff for their work in putting the dinner together. As well, he noted that the Town had an eight-member team in the April 30, 2107 Times Colonist 10K event.

- Report dated April 27, 2017 from the Director of Finance
D. Little, Hayes, Stewart, Little and Co., provided an overview of the 2016 consolidated financial statements. He noted that there were no significant issues and the documents fairly present the position of the Town.

The Senior Planner gave an overview of the report to Council.
P. Ghinis, property owner, stated that earlier this year he canvassed the neighbourhood regarding access to the Galloping Goose Regional Trail. The feedback he received indicated support for the provision of an asphalt walkway on Camden Avenue between St. Giles Street and the Galloping Goose Regional Trail.

THAT the request for the purchase of approximately 522m² of unopened road dedication adjacent to 2901 Herbate Road by the owner of 2901 Herbate Road to remedy three encroachments from that property be supported in principle;
AND THAT this transaction be subject to the following conditions:
- Council approval of the property disposition upon review of the appraised value;
- adoption of a road closure bylaw;
- receipt of a market value appraisal prepared by a professional selected from a Town-supplied list;
- Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure approval; if required;
- successful running of statutorily required road closure and disposition advertisements;
- consolidation of the subject property with 2901 Herbate Road;
- all related costs to be borne by the owner of 2901 Herbate Road, including but not limited to appraisal; legal, Land Title and Survey Authority of BC, survey and advertising;
AND FURTHER THAT the Town’s authorized signatories be permitted to execute the required documentation. CARRIED
