Dear View Royal Mayor Screech, Councillors and staff,

Thank you again for the opportunity to present at your Council meeting on July 18th regarding the Millstream Fishway Project. We'd like to give you an update on the project status, as at our last meeting we were in the initial stages of canvasing for project support. We are pleased to report that we are moving forward with the study/design stage this Fall 2017/Spring 2018. In addition to our $40,000 DFO RFCPP grant for 2017/18, we have recently secured donations or commitments of matching funds totaling $25,000 including $10K each from the City of Langford and Ecoasis/Bear Mountain Resort. We are continuing to actively fund-raise for the remaining $15,000 matching funds, which can include cash or in-kind support.

We are still hoping for cash or in-kind support from View Royal for 2017-18; any amount is helpful. We will also be applying to your Grant-in-Aid program (deadline March 1st), for 2018-19 funding.

We are also holding a Community Information Session and Site Tours on Saturday September 30th in the Mill Hill CRD Regional Parks parking lot. From 1-4pm, we will have Project Information displays and tours to show the community the proposed fishway site (Atkins Road culvert). I've attached a poster, and the info is also included in the attached Project Information package. Can View Royal help spread the word about this event? Please also come and learn/see it for yourselves! If you can 'like', 'follow' and share on your social media or through other channels, that would be fantastic. We've created a Facebook Event post here, please share: goo.gl/P9NieY

Please let us know if we can provide any more information, and don't hesitate to call or email to further discuss how you can participate in this project.

Thank you very much,

Francesca
