Details of Presentation: Introduce the new Millstream Fishway (Atkins Road Culvert) Project to VR Council. PSS has successfully applied for a $245,000 DFO grant (over two years) to design and install a fishway on the Atkins Road Culvert. Currently the perched culvert blocks fish access to over 8+ km of upstream habitat in Millstream Creek. This is a multi-jurisdictional project, also including Langford, Colwood, the Highlands, and partners CRD Parks, the Pacific Salmon Foundation, Goldstream Volunteer Salmon Enhancement Society, Ecoasis Developments (Bear Mountain), and the Victoria Fish and Game Protective Association. Over two years, this is a $510,500 project. This presentation will prompt further discussion on how View Royal would like to participate in the project.
