Letter from Juan de Fuca Performing Arts Centre Society re: Current Work Plan
Update on the society's recently granted charity status and future plans for land acquisition and fundraising.
June 16, 2017
Mayor and Council Town of View Royal 45 View Royal Avenue Victoria, BC V9B 1A6
Dear Mayor Screech and members of View Royal Council:
As reported to you at the end of 2016, we applied to the Canada Revenue Agency for charity status so we would be qualified to receive funding from charitable foundations. Charity status was granted recently. Therefore, we will now re-apply to several foundations for seed funding.
Our current work plan includes retaining a Project Manager and four credible subject matter experts to execute the four principal aspects of our project:
- Land acquisition;
- Fundraising;
- Building design; and
- Business model
By this time next year, we plan to have identified a site for the Centre with a conceptual building design, a business plan for operating the Centre, and a scheme for raising the funds for developing the Centre.
We hope for and appreciate your continued support and encouragement
Please let us know if you would like further information from us.
Sincerely,
Juan de Fuca Performing Arts Centre Society
