Invasive Removal Program Temporary Sign
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT Council approves the placement of one temporary sign during the one week prior to each invasive removal event.
CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER’S COMMENTS:
I concur with the recommendation.
PURPOSE OF REPORT:
To seek a resolution permitting the temporary placement of one sign at for each invasive removal event per Land Use Bylaw, 1990, No. 35, Section 7 (d) (i):
“Notwithstanding the provisions of this Division, Council may, by resolution, permit the placing of temporary signs of a type, and in a location, specified in the resolution for the period of time fixed thereby.“
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION:
Chris Junck is the program coordinator for the Town invasive and alien plant removal program. In support of the program, and to best promote the workshops, Chris has requested the placement of a sandwich board sign at each event.
For each event an 11 x 17 laminated notice would be posted on the sign for a one week period prior to each event.

ALTERNATIVES TO STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
That Council deny the request.
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT Council approves the placement of one temporary sign during the one week prior to each invasive removal event.
