June 13, 2017Leslie Johnston, Kingham PlaceConcerns over traffic flow between 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM

From: Leslie Johnston Sent: June-13-17 5:26 PM To: Mayor And Council Email Subject: Christie Point Development

Dear Mayor Screech and Council,

I understand, literally from a man on the street, that there is a town council meeting this evening concerning the Christie Point Development.

I am concerned that this development is being pushed through without any concern for the people of View Royal and surrounding areas. I have spoken to many of my neighbours and I can say that none of them are too pleased about this development. It would appear to me that this has become a done deal on the part of the council and no matter what is said by those who are most greatly affected seems to hold any weight at all.

If the builders are granted the story levels they are requesting it becomes very unsightly for us as neighbours but more importantly the support systems are simply not in place to handle the influx of people, workers and traffic flow. Traffic as you know is dreadful between the hours of 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM and then again in the afternoon beginning around 2:30 3:00 til well past 6:00. Adding a traffic light is not going to cut it.

Are the existing residents of Christie Point being offer alternative accommodation while the builder and contractors construct their empire and are they guaranteed a fair rental increase when they return?

These are questions which I think need to be answered before any kind of granting of contract can be done.

Sincerely,

Leslie Johnston
