Meeting Overview

The View Royal Council meeting on March 19, 2019, focused on the approval of the 2019-2023 Financial Plan, which included the addition of a new West Shore RCMP constable and a revised grant in aid budget totaling $113,470 funded by casino revenue. Significant debate occurred regarding the funding and necessity of additional police staffing and specific grant allocations, such as a one-time $5,000 grant for the Sarah Beckett Memorial Playground. Council also denied a variance permit for a retaining wall at 240 Helmcken Road and gave three readings to a new Development Cost Charges bylaw.
