Hello,
We live at , and we am writing to you because of ongoing issues we’ve been having with our neighbourhood, specifically the activities in and around 74 Norquay Road.
The issues have started to escalate again, after dying down last fall. We’ve seen an increase in vehicular traffic, as well as people loitering around the house in question. We’re hoping that contacting you now will ensure that it doesn’t get as bad as it did last summer, where we experienced the following incidents:
- Presence of multiple individuals at all hours of the day/night coming to and from the house, loading vehicles, standing in the street (RCMP called multiple times)
- Car abandoned on the road with a large boulder through window on Norquay, in front of our house (RCMP called)
- Garbage piles on the street, usually containing large broken liquor bottles
- We found a large bag of narcotics at the entrance to Gibraltar Bay that was provided to the RCMP
- Our car was burglarized (RCMP called)
- Neighbour's home broken into in the night (RCMP called)
As indicated, the police were involved many times, adding this residence to regular checks for a time, but this appears to have ceased in the winter months.
It seems that the questionable behavior is increasing again; there have been multiple vehicles, some repeat, at all hours parked and visiting for short to long periods. We do not feel safe in our neighbourhood anymore, and we are fearful when walking our dogs. Given some past threatening behavior from visitors to this house, we don’t feel safe trying to get make/model and licence plates of the vehicles. We have added multiple motion sensor outside lights, and we spend a significant amount of home time monitoring the goings-on.
We are fed up with the activity at this house and are hoping the Town of View Royal can do something to help. We are going to continue to report to the Westshore RCMP non-emergency line, however, it is a challenge for them to arrive while the vehicles and people are still present.
We know that our neighbour at has also contacted you about this issue, and we would like to corroborate her report, in addition to what we have written.
