Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure Attn: Minister Claire Trevena PO Box 9055 Prov Stn Govt Victoria, BC V8W 9E2

Dear Minister Trevena,

Re: Opposition to Highway Infrastructure Development in Sooke Hills Wilderness Regional Park

At the meeting on February 19, 2019, it was brought to Council's attention that the Provincial government has announced plans to consider the construction of an alternate highway route through the Greater Victoria watershed, specifically the Sooke Hills Wilderness Regional Park.

Considering the potential negative impacts on the quality of our regional water supply and the biological diversity in our area, the Town of View Royal is opposed to any highway infrastructure development through the watershed and Sooke Hills Wilderness Regional Park.

Sincerely,

David Screech Mayor

cc. Capital Regional District
