On yesterday's news, April 25th, the mayor of VIctoria and her henchman, Ben Isitt, proclaimed the need for FREE transit in the Victoria region, and to pay for it, to bilk homeowners and vehicle owners of more taxes to pay for their pandering schemes. Their intention is to use the hammer of the CRD to screw over homeowners and vehicle owners.
We, in the West Shore LOATHE Helps and Isitt, their politics are reprehensible, but, especially Helps, has delusional dreams of ruling over every inch of Greater VIctoria. You must stop her costly, ridiculous schemes, and Isitt, well known for his Marxist politics, he is an enemy to common sense.
Transit riders pay less than $100 per month, a bargain! Seniors and students pay even further reduced rates than that. Car owners are already saddled with far higher costs of ownership, car payments, insurance, fuel, maintenance, costing several hundred dollars a month. Transit riders already reap huge benefits of the cheapness of transit.
If Helps is allowed to achieve her scheme, it makes our region an even more expensive place to live than ever. Despite the promises of politicians to "make life more affordable" as the current premier campaigned on, the results are the opposite of their policies, and it will be no different for Helps and her far left schemes. Our kids are already struggling to pay for their own homes and rents, these more costly schemes will push the cost of housing even higher than ever, making the poor and lower income renters more difficult to get by day to day. As we know from economic facts, increased costs to landlords are passed on to renters. More taxes by Lisa Helps crazy schemes, will hurt EVERY RENTER in this region, including seniors on fixed incomes. Seniors vote regularly!
Mayor and Council, please represent the Westshore at future CRD meetings, NOT the schemes of the CIty of VIctoria!
Reject the schemes of Lisa Helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
