Key Decisions

• THAT Council appoint MNP LLP as external auditors for View Royal for fiscal years 2019 through 2023 (inclusive); AND THAT staff be authorized to execute a contract with MNP LLP for the provision of financial audit services for a total of $112,875 (exclusive of taxes) for the five-year term of the agreement.
• THAT the Town write to the British Columbia Utilities Commission with a copy to the Capital Regional District to express concern regarding the impact to municipal independence through the regulation of municipal utilities and to request that the Town be kept apprised of the outcome as the inquiry proceeds.
• THAT the Town of View Royal supports in principle, subject to further studies regarding potential impact to the shoreline and capacity of transportation infrastructure, the location of a passenger ferry terminal on the Royal Bay waterfront in the City of Colwood and a passenger ferry terminal in the City of Victoria.
• THAT the portion of the 2019 grants in aid list pertaining to the Greater Victoria Crossing Guards Association approved at the March 19, 2019 Council meeting (C-42-19) be replaced with: “Greater Victoria Crossing Guards Association - $14,000 to support the school crossing guard program in the Town from September to December 2019 and that the Association be requested to modify future grain in aid applications to correspond to the Town’s fiscal year (January – December).”
• THAT Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 958, 2016, Amendment Bylaw No. 1028, 2019 be given first, second and third reading.
