I am unable to attend the Council meeting on January 15th regarding this proposal so would appreciate my following comments and concerns being considered when this matter is being discussed. Thank you in advance:

First, I would like to say that I was not and am still not impressed with this project going ahead and I did register my objection at a Council meeting. My concern, at the moment, is the availability of parking situations for the 37 units. Are there parking spots, underground, for more than one vehicle per unit? If not where would the other vehicles park? Hopefully, residents and visitors will not park on the streets surrounding the new building. I am concerned that parking will occur on Suzanne (a no-through road without sidewalks used by a large number of View Royal Elementary students) and impede on resident requirements. If this is experienced what solutions would be in place?

I have some concern about the blasting that will be required to provide enough underground parking and the impact this will have to us who surround the new proposal. There is a major amount of bedrock that will require blasting and I am very sure there will be issues with this. What protection do the existing residents have?

Second, will the variances impede the pathway from the Old Island Highway towards Suzanne Place. The pathway is next to a common driveway and hopefully this will not become an issue for those who utilize the driveway on a daily basis. Also I have some concern regarding the bus stop. How does BC Transit expect this will impact their busses?

Also, will the variances make the situation more difficult for sight lines for those people exiting onto the Old Island Highway? Any concerns from the View Royal Fire Department?

While I am unable to attend I would appreciate any comments you may have in reply to my concerns (if possible and without requiring a lot of time).
