a) Minutes of the Community Development Advisory Committee meeting held May 25, 2021

THAT the minutes of the Community Development Advisory Committee meeting held May 25, 2021 be amended to include L. Jeaurond as “present” and that the minutes be adopted as amended. CARRIED

a) Community Amenity Contributions Policy - Affordable Housing

Report dated April 8, 2021 from the Director of Development Services

CDAC-03-21 THAT the Committee recommend to Council that the Community Development Advisory Committee supports the recommendation in the Community Amenity Contributions Policy to increase the community amenity contribution rate;

AND THAT staff consider looking at reductions to incentivize projects that are in line with the needs as demonstrated in the Housing Needs Assessment report. CARRIED

CDAC-04-21 THAT the Committee recommend to Council that in addition to current contributions, the Town allocate a portion of the community amenity contributions collected toward the Capital Regional District’s Regional Housing Trust Fund with staff to recommend the specific amount to Council. CARRIED

The Chair left the meeting at 8:06 p.m. and the Vice Chair assumed duties

a) Increased Contributions to the Regional Housing Trust Fund – L. Jeaurond

The Committee discussed increasing contributions from municipalities to the Capital Regional District’s Regional Housing Trust Fund.

CDAC-05-21 THAT the Committee recommend to Council that the Town engage the Capital Regional District to recommend that the Regional Housing Trust Fund requisitions be doubled. CARRIED
