A letter of support from neighbors at 1269 Burnside Road West for the proposal at 8 Eaton Avenue.

1 CALL TO ORDER
May 12, 2020States the proposed site is ideal and utilizes existing infrastructure

Town of View Royal Mayor and Council 45 View Royal Avenue Victoria, BC V9A 1 A6

Mayor and Council:

We are writing this letter of support for our neighbours, Troy and Sue-Ann Carter from #8 Eaton Avenue. They have been exceptional neighbours for approximately 20 years. During this time they have always the utmost respect for our community.

Sue-Ann and Troy approached us last August to discuss their plans to construct an accessory building and have remained in touch throughout the entire process. Troy has always used their attached garage as well as his backyard for a variety of woodworking projects over the years. One would never know, as we have never been bothered by any noise. They showed us the location and explained, that if they were able to use the existing concrete footings, it would help to reduce the cost of building and the impact on neighbours since the building would be less visible, almost hidden on two sides by the Laurel hedges.

They were more than considerate when they designed the building so they would not block sunlight from our newly installed Laurel hedge.

We understand there is a concern over the location of the accessory building, but it is our viewpoint that the proposed site is ideal, because it not only utilizes existing infrastructure, but also is not directly in any ones sight line.

In conclusion, we support the Carter's original proposal and cannot see any advantage to moving the location of the structure.

Sincerely,

Philip Headen Tamara Kourchenko
