Hello, my name is Mary Ferrarelli and my husband and I reside at 1251 Stancil Lane. We first met Sue-Anne and Troy Carter that summer when we were invited to our first block party at the Carters home.
We had never lived in a neighbour hood that took the time to get to know their neighbours. What a better way, but to host a get together, and to meet fellow neighbours, have a party, and they did. That was 18 years ago, and we are still going strong. We could always count on the Carters, Troy builds our props for our themes for the block party. He is the cook , chief and clean up crew. Of course we all chipped in . All we had to do was ask Troy, and it was done, he never questioned our requests. He simply just did it and is always there to lend a hand.
Sue-Anne prepared all the flyers that we delivered from home to home in our neighbourhoods. They are both generous , with not only with their time and energy in building our props, but also staging of our block parties . From organizing games for the children and the music for the event .
We know longer have the block parties at the neighbours home, we have been blessed in View Royal to share Welland park . As our parties grew with more neighbours that come from the surrounding neighbourhoods, Burnside Rd and also Quincy St.
Sue-Anne and Troy as I know it have always respected their neighbours and theIr privacy’s .
Eaton Avenue has had their fair amount of challenges and growing pains, as the children grew into adults. Thru all of that , the Carters were caring and understanding. As they too were raising to young boys. They always spoke with kind words and understanding with challenges that they had to encounter on that block.
Which is why I chose to write this letter. They are the most helpful , and caring and beautiful people that we know .
I cannot imagine ever moving from our block. We are surrounded with many great neighbours. We too are truly blessed!
