Footprint

  • Total Length = 38m
  • Elevated Boardwalk footprint = 36m2
  • Ramp footprint = 3m2
  • Floating footprint = 27m2
  • Total Footprint = 66m2

Construction and Materials

  • Dock surface: 2"x6" decking with 1/4" gaps
  • Materials:
    • Floats: encapsulated foam
    • Decking and supports: yellow cedar
    • Connectors: powder coated screws
  • Construction: By hand, including hand held pile driver

Design Notes

  • Vertical height: 2m length (not to scale)
  • Height: 0.5m = height above ground level for the boardwalk section.
  • Boardwalk Supports: Elevated boardwalk supports consist of 6"x6" yellow cedar posts with cross braces.
  • Environmental Context: The dock passes through a riparian shrub fringe and aquatic vegetation.
  • Floating Section: Anchors to be determined by dock installer. Location of drop off to floating section is approximate based on observed vegetation changes and airphoto measurements. No bathymetric depth measurements have been conducted.
  • Water Elevation: Design indicates the High Water Mark and Summer Water Elevation.
  • Layout: Includes steps at the shore end and various sections with dimensions:
    • 3m x 3m landing
    • 6m x 1.5m boardwalk
    • 12m x 1.5m boardwalk
    • 2m x 1.5m ramp
    • 12m x 1.5m floating section
    • 3m x 3m floating section end
