2019 Reporting Year
PURPOSE OF REPORT
To report on the Town’s 2019 Green House Gas emissions from corporate operations.
2019 Highlights
- Replaced 37 ‘cobra head’ streetlights with LED illumination. (58 more replacements are planned for 2020. There are 166 cobra lights in total. Replacement of all other streetlights with LEDs in long term)
- The Town’s first Level 2 public electric vehicle charging stations were installed at Helmcken Centennial Park and Town Hall.
- The Town purchased a Hyundai Ioniq electric car in May 2019 for its fleet. This is the Town’s first zero emission vehicle.
- Additional 50 tes of GHG offsets from increased volume at Hartland Landfill composting facility due to Emterra closing its composting facility.
