The Town of View Royal Building and Plumbing Bylaw 2003, No. 496 states in part: This bylaw is enacted and retained for the purpose of regulating construction within the Municipality in the general public interest. The activities undertaken by or on behalf of the Municipality pursuant to this bylaw are for the sole purpose of providing a limited and interim spot checking function for the reasons of public health and safety. It is not contemplated nor intended, nor does the purpose of this bylaw extend: (1) to the protection of the owners, owner/builders or builders from economic loss; (2) to the assumption by the Municipality of any responsibility for ensuring the compliance by any owner, his representatives or any employees, contractors or design professionals retained by him, with the current edition of the British Columbia Building Code, the requirements of the bylaw or any other applicable codes or standards; (3) to provide any person a warranty of design or workmanship with respect to any building or structure for which a building permit is issued under this bylaw; (4) to provide a warranty or assurance that construction undertaken pursuant to building permits issued by the Municipality is free from latent, or any defect.

I acknowledge that I have read and understood the foregoing. I acknowledge that as the permit applicant I remain responsible to ensure that all construction complies with the British Columbia Building Code, all relevant Bylaws of the Town of View Royal and all other enactments respecting safety.

THE BUILDING INSPECTION DEPARTMENT SHALL BE NOTIFIED AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF REQUIRED INSPECTIONS.

THIS DOCUMENT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE AN OFFICIAL PERMIT UNTIL ALL FEES HAVE BEEN PAID IN FULL.

The Application fee is a non-refundable application fee. The Application fee will be applied towards the building permit fee. Please note if plans do not meet municipal bylaws and the B.C. Building Code requirements your application will be rejected. This will result in a new application fee being paid should you choose to reapply.
