Appendix 10

A. Seisan and R. Manshadi 17 Eaton Avenue Victoria, BC V9B 1A6

September 18, 2018

Dear Sir or Madam:

Re: Stop Work Order / Denied Building Permit 17 Eaton Avenue

On June 1, 2016 a Stop Work Order was issued for your property. The Order was given as you had constructed a deck and began enclosing a portion of your home without permits. Subsequently you applied for a building permit on approximately June 26, 2016.

Your building permit was denied as the proposed construction that was issued a stop work order exceeds allowable floor space and lot coverage. As advised, a variance is required to proceed with construction.

A requirement to seek a variance as well as engineering for your retaining wall is also remains outstanding.

As no attempts have been made to correct these situations, staff will be seeking council direction on this matter. You may be subject to fines, an injunction to remove non-permitted structures or a Section 57 under the Community Charter.

If you have any questions or further comments regarding this letter, please contact the Building Inspection Department at (250) 727-7903.

Yours truly,

Gary Faykes Building Official
