Dear Mayor and Council,

I live directly across from this proposed development. My backyard will back directly onto this new development intersected only by the very narrow Erskine Lane. I whole heartedly support the development of new housing and especially affordable housing in our region, however public consultation cannot be stymied by Covid 19 when there are alternatives available. Colwood for example has been holding electronic meetings for two months. Their residents can view meetings online and are able to provide input in written form and/or register to speak during Public Participation. Can we not do the same? Being one of a handful of homeowners who will be the most impacted by this development I really need my voice to be heard. I understand that these are challenging time, we all have had to develop new and sometimes more costly ways to do business, I know we can do this at Council as well. Prior to Covid, I have always been impressed with the way my City Council has sought out and listened to public opinion before making a decision. Please do not discounting that important step when there are means available to continue doing it.

Respectfully,

Kathleen & Larry Gilbert #68-14 Erskine Lane
