Hello,
I'm writing to add my concerns to the recent BC Transit proposal to rezone the land at the corner of Watkiss Way and Burnside Rd W. My name is Neil Chizeck and I live near the area, at 14 Stoneridge Drive.
I'm against the proposal. If it passes, then a park will be rezoned to an industrial area at the expense of the environment and the residents, and we'll lose this area forever. I believe parks should be preserved for countless reasons, and that we should respect what they do for us. If we lose it to the BC Transit proposal, we'll lose the benefit of the green space and the impact of this would be considerably felt by the community, every day.
I hope BC Transit does the right thing and withdraws the proposal and picks another area that that has already been zoned for industrial/business purposes.
Please reject this proposal for the benefit of the environment, its current purpose, and the people that live in the the surrounding areas.
