Dear Mayor Screech and Council,

On behalf of the Vancouver Island South Film and Media Commission, I would like to send our sincere appreciation for supporting our work.

Your contribution of $500 helps to market a local film industry that brought more than $30 Million in direct spending to the Greater Victoria economy since 2015. As a municipal funder, your support allows us to position the CRD as an international filming location and attract major film and TV productions to the region every year.

The work of the film commission generates jobs for local film crews that live and spend income in our local economy. Film dollars spent by domestic and foreign productions support a wide range of businesses throughout the CRD including accommodations, airlines, vehicle and equipment rentals, taxis, private locations, parking facilities, restaurants, caterers, print services and so much more.

Our success is dependent on the continued support of the mayor, council and staff in View Royal. Without your investment our ability to develop the industry would be greatly limited. We value your support as we continue to promote CRD locations, crew, talent and services to domestic and international film and television markets.
